We hope everyone had a wonderful spring break. Please see important information below.

PTA Advocacy Day and SRVUSD Presentations

Have you signed up yet to attend PTA  Advocacy Day 2022 taking place on April 22nd? There is still time! Advocacy Day is an incredible opportunity to understand about the Raise the Base initiative and school funding in California. You will learn directly from state legislators, education finance experts, students, teachers, local superintendents and school board members. Please see registration details and information in this flyer regarding additional sessions to learn more about SRVUSD funding from our Board of Education Members. This advocacy work is integrally connected to our Access to Excellence (a2e) initiative. We look forward to seeing you there!

CA Department of Education Parent Advisory Council

We are excited to share that the California Department of Education will be launching the first State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s Parent Advisory Council. They want to include parents/caregivers in the conversations about what is important for their students’ education. This Council will work directly with State Superintendent Tony Thurmond’s office to provide input and feedback on matters affecting youth throughout the state.

Submit the application by the deadline of May 5, 2022.

New SRVUSD Website

We are excited to announce that beginning July 1, 2022, SRVUSD will launch our new website and communication system! Webmasters across the District are working hard to update and synthesize our current web content to be ready for the launch. We will be connecting soon with more information on training for content contributors/creators such as PTA and SRVEF leaders, and other volunteer and community partners. Our Technology Team will continue to lead the process and provide support to ensure a seamless transition for everyone.

Our new website will:

  • Be easier to navigate and find the information you need in fewer clicks

  • Support deeper engagement and connection for all of our key partners: students, staff, parents/caregivers and the wider community

  • Provide the right information at the right time

  • Have a mobile app that the community can download to make our website even more accessible from your personal devices

Thank you to the more than 40 partners across our District community who participated in the process to select our new website and communication tool vendor. Participants expressed their excitement about the change, sharing feedback such as the new website will be “easier to navigate as an end user,” and “the new website is user-friendly and will support our schools and district in communicating more effectively with students, staff and the community!”

COVID Vaccine Requirements

As part of our commitment to keep you informed, we want to share that yesterday, Senator Pan, author of SB 871, announced he is withdrawing his bill that would have required all students to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the 2022-23 school year.
